Today was Chippy's Birthday. The gang met up at the Riverside Inn at around 12:30pm for pre-dinner drinks. Dave got started nice and early as usual. Paul and Cathy came along with their two boys. I haven't seen them for ages. They used to live across the road from me, but even then, I didn't see them that much.
We then sat down about 1pm, but orders for meals didn't start until 1:45pm. More drinks and chat later and we started to get our meals about 2:25pm. Sam's Dad, Paul was the first to arrive. A steak with all the trimmings and it was a huge plate of food. That being said, he had almost finished before some of us had even had our meals delivered. The final meals were brought to the table at about 2:50pm. The food was wonderful and plentiful, so it made up for the wait, but they really need to keep a check on the amount of time is takes to serve the meals.
Still, we were all very full by the end of the meal.
